This just might be the greatest discovery I’ve made since rikaichan, guys. 

To quote:

Capture2Text enables language learners to:

    Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
    Allows the user to quickly snapshot a small portion of the screen, OCR it 
    and (by default) save the result to the clipboard.”

This means that you can screenshot any Japanese text in any image, and have the text converted to your standard copy-paste so that you can look up the word. No furigana? No problem. Now, this is especially great for reading Manga in Japanese! Instead of spending five minutes poring through a kanji dictionary to find the meaning of a single word, it takes three seconds to OCR the text and look it up. I’ve been using this since yesterday, and it works like a charm.

And this isn’t only Japanese, there’s also support for 30+ other languages! Woo!
